Christi Smith, founder/president, has over 20 years of experience in the child care industry. She has worked with children and educators in a variety of positions. Christi has an MBA with emphasis in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child and Family Development....a great combination to build bridges between administrators and child care professionals to achieve common goals for children!
She is a KAEYC (Kansas Education of the Young Child) board member and a member of the Kansas Child Care Best Team. She is a curriculum designer for Basic Knowledge Curriculum, Mission Possible, All for One and One for All, and Social/Emotional Child Care Orientation Training. These programs are for child care professionals and offered through Child Care Aware® of Missouri and Child Care Aware® of Kansas.
Christi is known for her ability to link educational standards between administrators, educators, and families with the focus on child and play centered early learning environments.
Her lifelong passion has been to coach and mentor individuals to fulfill her motto: To Capture Teachable Moments that Last a Lifetime.
Christi and her husband Jerry have 2 boys Ethan and Wyatt. They live in Kansas City, Missouri with their dogs Ringo and Dallas!
Christi is an independent facilitator for Becoming a Love and Logic Parent® and Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun©. She also is a certified instructor to teach Pediatric (Adult/Child/Infant) First Aid and CPR through EMS Safety.
Christi has participated in several community activities supporting child care initiatives which include:
- CDA adviser and instructor
- Adjunct Professor for professional development classes
- Participated in the Kansas Pre-K initiative
- Member of NAEYC, NAFCC, KAEYC
- Bi-State Core Competency Committee Member
